CMI-CJA cordially requests the honor of all government employees, architects, engineers and manufacturer representatives of correctional products to attend the 2010 annual CMI conference hosted by our board members from the State of Michigan to be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan commencing on Tuesday October 5 through Thursday October 7, 2010 with early registration and golf tournament on Monday October 4, 2010. Local attractions almost within walking distance include the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. A short drive and you can visit the Motown and Art Museums in Detroit. IF you bring your passport, you can trek into Windsor Canada and enjoy some fine dining. More information about the surrounding area is available on the Hyatt Regency website.

The following seminars and speakers include: Green Boiler Technology - Speaker Frank Salensky; Establishing and Promoting a Positive Culture in the Work Environment - Speaker Mike Montgomery; Energy as a Component of Sustainability and Application of Energy Policy - Speaker Randy Rovalty; Lighting a Correctional Facility Economically - Speaker TBA; Energy Performance Contracts - Speaker TBA; Michigan Green Program - Speaker Doug Russell. The facility tour this year is the Huron Valley Women's Correctional Facility. CMI also hosts round-table discussions at the conclusion of the seminars that are open to any questions, comments, concerns or new technologies in the facilities field. Full membership in CMI is restricted to only public employees who are actively involved with criminal justice construction and maintenance. These agencies may be federal, state, or local. However, non-public employees such as vendors, architects, engineers, or individuals with an interest in construction or maintenance of criminal justice facilities may obtain an "affiliate" membership. The CMI-CJA organization is always interested in seminars and discussions on topics relevant to all prison construction, renovation, new technologies, and funding sources. Our agenda is being developed now. If you are interested in participating as a presenter for this year's conference, please contact Jerry Elmblad or Steve Hudenko. Presenters can be affiliate members, CMI members, or outside organizations. Topics can be presented individually or in panels. AVA equipment is available.
